FAQ

This is a FAQ for The Intolerable Clock, a non-canon hexarchate RPG.

What is the premise?
The hexarchate is a star-spanning polity of monstrosities small and great, where consensus reality is enforced not just by a rigid police state but by the ritual torture of "heretics" on state holidays. Lately it is not just wracked by internal dissent but by the discovery of rifts in time and space through which people from other worlds appear.

You are one of a hardy group of people--whether from the hexarchate (or heptarchate) itself, a foreign state, or another world in the multiverse entirely--who have gathered with the explicit goal of destroying the hexarchate by going back in time and preventing its creation, or otherwise seeding its destruction.

The question is, can you succeed before the hexarchate's agents catch on and eliminate you?

Who's the GM?
The GM is [personal profile] yhlee (Yoon Ha Lee). Howdy! You can reach me by email (yoon at yoonhalee dot com / requiescat at gmail dot com) or DW messaging.

What are the rules/guidelines?
This RPG will be run freeform using posts/comments on this comm. More detailed guidelines can be found at the profile.

How do I apply?
A character application form can be found at the profile. Round 2 player applications should be posted as comments here.

Who are the current players/characters?
Here's the list!

I have a question about the world of the hexarchate--where can I ask it?

Hello, I'm a random stranger who loves your books and is very excited about this rpg and made a dreamwidth account for the first time just now.

I have a question. In the guidelines it says "Characters are encouraged to invent setting details and NPCs as they need them." For worldbuilding details about the Hexarchate, can we ask you or should we make them up ourselves? For example, if I make a Rahal character and I need to know how many years it takes to get through Rahal training. I'm fine with making the details up myself if you'd rather not have to deal with a bunch of questions like that/want us to be creative and come up with such things on our own, but I always love getting more 'canon' information.

Sorry if this is already covered in the guidelines! I miss things sometimes.

Thank you for replying! If I have a question about worldbuilding, where should I ask it?

Hello!
I was wondering if there's a recommended place to post art? I've drawn a couple of things and am definitely going to do more and kind of feel bad clogging up the current threads here. :))
