“I haven’t been on base long; about a week. There hasn’t been much going on. People gathering mainly.” A glance to Sasha. “Ashari’s occupied.”
Canted with her back largely to the wall, she continues to keep a loosely roving gaze on the room as they talk. Seeing Dar appear in the doorway, the look of horror the cook wears is so obvious that Xiulan follows her line of sight with such alacrity that her earrings swing with the motion.
Someone is levering cake slices onto plates. Her shoulders relax and she goes right back to speaking as if nothing happened.
“I’ve researched what I can in the meantime. It’s been...quiet, here.
“Before arriving at this base, they had me handle a couple of things. Milk run type stuff though, nothing fancy. For evaluation purposes I assume. But, I’m versatile. Black ops work in small teams with little support is something I’ve done a lot of. Which generally meant taking care of whatever the hell we had to ourselves.” She rolls her shoulders in a light shrug.
“Seems like that might come in handy in this sort of resistance structure.”
