unfocused musing on faction critters

I don't know if I should have assumed that all the faction animals are mythical. Uh. Or Mikodez was lying to Alaric/the air? But if they only achieved mothdrives three hundred years /after/ the hexarchate's founding, that suggests the Nirai emblem isn't a reference to the starship propelling moths.
(...Although Kujen could have revamped the logos.)

Also, after thinking about numerical slang some more, that's probably verboten by Mikodez's time, and possibly even by year 361. I don't really know how to conceptualize a society where numbers are freighted with every kind of restriction.

Should early Nirai have planet signifiers, then? Or does the training of the Rahal who's observing have an effect, as well as the calendar?

hi I was just alerted to the existence of this conversation and I have some suggestions because I, Lleu, am just as obsessed with space astrology as Virmad is:

Ringworld Shattered (Broken-Winged Moth)
Ringworld Moon Rising (Knife-Winged Moth)
Ringworld Day Breaking (Clockwork Moth)
Ringworld Orbiting (Voidmoth on Patrol)

I'm trying to think of something to do with the aurora for Voidmoth of Many Constellations — maybe something like Ringworld Poles Shining?

(THAT SAID I also like the idea that the meanings don't overlap — but that would probably have been too chaotic for the Rahal.)
